Everey Thing about Kidney Donor, Kidney transplant surgery and kidney living donors

Living Kidney Donors For all blood types

Finding a kidney donor is always the biggest concern of patients in need of a kidney transplant. These patients face many problems in finding a suitable kidney donor.
On the other hand, there are many benevolent people who want to donate their kidneys to patients who need kidneys, but they do not know anyone who is sick and needs a kidney transplant.
In this regard, our company has identified kidney donors from all blood groups and from all over the world. These donors are classified according to the type of blood group and prioritized according to the time of registration. Patients who need a kidney transplant benefit from these donors by  receiving a kidney from them.
In most countries of the world, there are strict laws regarding organ donation. So that patients should only receive a kidney from their first-degree relatives and if there is no donor for a kidney in the patient's close relatives, they have to stand in long queues to receive a kidney, which sometimes takes more than 10 years for a patient to receive the kidney they need. slow
Meanwhile, Iran is the only country where buying and selling kidneys is legal, and Turkey has also allowed patients to receive kidneys from their friends, and with the implementation of this law, many patients from all over the world come to this country for kidney transplants. so that this country performs the largest number of kidney transplants per year among all countries in the world. In this way, these two countries have provided the most comfortable rules for patients and kidney donors. Therefore, we have chosen these two countries to perform kidney transplant operations. On the other hand, the well-equipped hospitals of these two countries and the presence of expert surgeons have placed these two countries at the top of the world for performing kidney transplant operations.

Who may need a kidney transplant

If your kidneys have completely failed, a kidney transplant may be an option. This condition is called end-stage renal disease . If you reach this point, your doctor will likely recommend dialysis.

In addition to putting you on dialysis, your doctor will tell you whether he thinks you are a good candidate for a kidney transplant.

You must be healthy enough to undergo major surgery and endure a strict, lifelong medication regimen after surgery to be a good candidate for a transplant. You must also be willing and able to follow all of your doctor's instructions and take your medications regularly.

If you have a serious underlying medical condition, a kidney transplant may be risky or unsuccessful. These serious conditions include:

  • Cancer or recent history of cancer
  • Serious infections such as tuberculosis, bone infections or hepatitis
  • Severe cardiovascular disease
  • liver disease

Your doctor may also recommend not having a transplant if:

  • smoking
  • Drinking too much alcohol
  • Taking illegal drugs

If your doctor thinks you are a good candidate for a transplant and you are interested in the procedure, you should be evaluated at a transplant center.

This evaluation usually includes several visits to evaluate your physical, mental, and family status. The doctors of the center will do your blood and urine tests. They will also give you a thorough physical exam to make sure you are healthy enough for surgery.

A psychologist and social worker will also meet with you to make sure you are able to understand and follow a complex treatment regimen. The social worker will make sure you can afford the procedure and have enough support after you leave hospital.

The process of matching a transplanted kidney

During your transplant evaluation, you will have blood tests to determine your blood type (A, B, AB, or O) and human leukocyte antigen (HLA). HLA is a group of antigens that are on the surface of your white blood cells. Antigens are responsible for your body's immune response.

If your HLA type matches the donor's HLA type, your body will most likely not reject the kidney. Each person has six antigens, which are three antigens from each biological parent. The more antigens you have that match the donor antigens, the better the chance of a successful transplant.

Once a potential donor is identified, you will need another test to make sure your antibodies are not attacking the donor's organs. This is done by mixing a small amount of your own blood with a donor's blood.

If your blood forms antibodies in response to the donor's blood, the transplant will not take place.

If your blood does not show an antibody reaction, you have something called "negative compatibility . " This means that the link can continue.

Payment terms for kidney transplant
  • 10% after signing the contract by the patient
(This 10% is required in the packages of Turkey, but it is not required in the packages of Iran, and the patient can pay this amount after entering Iran and settling in the hotel)
  • 50% will be received after performing tests before the kidney transplant surgery and on the day of the kidney transplant surgery (before surgery)
  • The remaining 40% of the amount will be received after the kidney transplant surgery and during the patient's hospitalization.

Stages of kidney transplant

1. Sending the patient's documents - all the patient's medical documents along with the picture of the patient's passport
2. Signing the contract - drawing up the contract by the company and signing the patient
3. Prepayment deposit - 10% prepayment invoice is issued and referred to the patient for payment
4. Allocating a kidney donor - allocating a kidney donor matching the patient and sending a kidney donor from Iran or other countries to Turkey
5. Entry of the patient to Turkey - The patient enters Turkey to perform the kidney transplant operation
6. Performing additional medical tests - tissue tests and patient and donor matching are performed
7. Payment of 50% of the contract amount - 50% of the contract amount is paid by the patient to the company before the kidney transplant operation.
8. Performing the kidney transplant operation - after ensuring the compatibility of the tissue of the kidney donor and the patient, the kidney transplant operation is performed
9. Full settlement with the company - after the kidney transplant operation, the patient is hospitalized for 2 to 10 days. After the kidney transplant operation, the patient pays the remaining amount of the contract to the company.
10. Discharge of the patient from the hospital - after the end of the patient's hospitalization and according to the diagnosis of the treating doctor, the patient is discharged from the hospital and can return to his country.

Kidney transplant success rates

Kidney transplant outcomes have improved dramatically in the last decades. Developments in surgical techniques, advanced understanding of the immune system and immunosuppressive regimens, and better anti-microbial treatment options contribute to a higher kidney transplant survival rate. However, kidney transplantation is still a highly specialized medical intervention. Success rates depend greatly on the medical center and the team responsible for the operation and long-term follow-up. At TMT Kidney Transplant Centers, the graft survival rate is 99% after the first year and 94% in the fifth year. The patient survival rate is 99% in the first year and 95% in the fifth year.

How is a kidney transplant performed

When you arrive at the transplant center, you will need to give a blood sample for antibody testing. If the compatibility result is negative, you will be selected for surgery.

Kidney transplantation is performed under general anesthesia. This involves giving you medicine to put you to sleep during surgery. The anesthetic is injected into your body through an intravenous (IV) line in your hand or arm.

While you are asleep, the doctor will make an incision in your abdomen and insert the donor kidney. Then they connect the arteries and veins from the kidney to your arteries and veins. This causes blood to start flowing through the new kidney.

Your doctor will also connect the new renal ureter to your bladder so that you can urinate normally. The ureter is the tube that connects your kidney to your bladder.

Your doctor will leave your original kidneys in your body unless they are causing problems such as high blood pressure or infection.

Post-transplant care

You will wake up in the recovery room. Hospital staff will monitor your vital signs until they are sure you are awake and stable. Then, they will transfer you to a hospital room.

Even if you feel fine after your transplant (many people do), you'll likely need to stay in the hospital for up to a week after surgery.

Your new kidney may begin clearing waste from your body right away, or it may take several weeks to begin working. Kidneys donated by family members usually start working faster than kidneys from unrelated or deceased donors.

You can expect to have a lot of pain near the incision site during the initial healing period. While you are in the hospital, doctors will monitor you for complications. They will also put you on a strict schedule of immunosuppressants to prevent your body from rejecting the new kidney. You must take these medications every day to prevent your body from rejecting the donor kidney.

Before you leave the hospital, your transplant team will give you specific instructions about how and when to take your medications. Make sure you understand these instructions and ask as many questions as necessary. Your doctors will also create a checkup schedule for you to follow after surgery.

After discharge, you will have regular appointments with your transplant team so they can assess the function of your new kidney.

You should take your immunosuppressant medications as prescribed. Your doctor may also prescribe additional medications to reduce the risk of infection. Finally, you should monitor yourself for warning signs that your body has rejected the kidney. These include pain, swelling, and flu-like symptoms.

You should follow up with your doctor regularly for the first one to two months after surgery. Your recovery may take about six months.
